On 09.01.2025, we signed a contract with Włoszczowski Zakład Wodociągów i Kanalizacji Sp. z o.o. / Włoszczowa water and sewage systems / for the delivery and installation of 5,500 water meters equipped with radio modules for remote reading throughout the Włoszczowa Commune (Poland).
The Municipal Water Company, as one of 10 companies in Poland, will implement the latest water meter reading technology system via GSM in NBiOT technology.
HOW WILL THE SYSTEM WORK?
The system will use Itron water meters with Narrowband modules manufactured by Manas. Remote reading will take place via a GSM link through a mobile network operator, and the readings will be sent to a dedicated Wes4Com web platform.
Water reading devices will signal all external threats and various anomalies such as: illegal water collection, reverse flow, leaks, application of a magnet (or strong magnetic field), ambient operating temperature, no flow. Each device meets ATEX requirements, which means that it is not dangerous in the event of a gas leak.
WHAT WILL BE THE BENEFITS FOR THE CUSTOMER AND RESIDENTS?
The Company’s employee will not have to physically read water meters as before. Employee visits to properties will be limited to cases of suspected damage to the water meter or remote reading module.
The system will allow for faster detection of water leaks, which will reduce failures, interruptions in water supply and shorten the repair period. It will also be possible to quickly detect unauthorized water consumption from the network.
This will reduce actual water losses, which in turn will help minimize water price increases.
In the case of sale of the property, the system will make it easier for owners to settle media, because it will indicate the water meter reading for a given day.
NEXT STEPS
In the future, the Company is also considering implementing further modern solutions such as GIS or a water supply network model, which for residents would mean streamlining the decision to connect to the network.
